Analyzing the trading behavior of its Australian user base, Kraken found a significant preference for meme coins that have emerged more recently. For instance, approximately 2.65% of Kraken's Australian users hold PEPE, a meme coin launched in 2022, which is double the global average of 1.5%. Additionally, 1.58% of Australian users hold WIF, a Solana-based meme coin, significantly higher than the global average of 0.45%. Kraken's data also reveals that Australian users are less enthusiastic about first-generation meme coins such as Dogecoin (DOGE) and Shiba Inu (SHIB), with adoption rates below the global average.
