Base Core Dev Says Gas Fee Optimization Progressing Well

Base, Coinbase's layer-2 network, has made significant progress in optimizing gas fees. According to a recent announcement by core developer Jesse Pollak, the network's gas target has been increased to 6.25Mgas/s, resulting in a 25% increase in overall capacity and a substantial reduction in fees. Pollak also revealed that the team has conducted extensive testing and tuning and plans to further increase the gas target to 7.5Mgas/s this week. The ultimate goal is to achieve a gas target of 1Ggas/s. These ongoing efforts demonstrate Base's commitment to providing users with a fast, scalable, and cost-effective platform for decentralized applications and transactions.
