Bitwise exec: ETH spot ETF approval inching closer

Bitwise Chief Compliance Officer Katherine Dowling recently spoke with Bloomberg about the progress of ETH spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and the ongoing discussions with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Dowling stated that the parties are "getting closer to the finish line" as they work through issues with each amendment. Dowling also commented on VanEck's recent filing for a Solana (SOL) spot ETF, saying that "it's great to see the SEC engaging with new crypto products." However, she cautioned that it will still "be a while" before another crypto spot ETF not tied to futures markets hits the market. Bitwise itself filed an amended S-1 registration statement for its ETH spot ETF on August 4th, signaling the company's continued commitment to bringing a physically-backed ETH ETF to market.
