Cardano Founder Rejects Vitalik's Notion That Voting for Politicians Based on Their Crypto Stance Is Counterproductive

Cardano founder and IOG co-founder and CEO Charles Hoskinson has rejected Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin's claim that supporting politicians based on their stance on Cryptocurrency is counterproductive. He stressed via X that “governments are moving to roll out central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), suing non-custodial wallet providers, and throwing leaders in the crypto space in jail, one after the other. Politics is all about cause and effect. If politicians can be made to see that there is a price to pay—in terms of lost elections—for messing with the crypto industry, they will leave our industry alone... Voting for Joe Biden as US President was akin to voting for the death of crypto.” Buterin had earlier said that "politicians should not be allowed to think that all they have to do is say they support crypto to get the votes of crypto people. We need to actually look at what candidates have done in the past with respect to crypto." ```
