US Crypto SuperPAC Spends Millions in Primary Elections, Bolstering Pro-Crypto Candidates

CoinDesk recently reported that a US crypto superPAC, Fairshake, has been actively spending in this year's primary elections. Federal Election Commission (FEC) filings indicate that Fairshake has contributed significantly to Democratic candidates who support cryptocurrency-friendly policies. Fairshake's support has been particularly evident in the campaigns of Democratic US Representative Cori Bush and Democratic candidate Emily Randall. According to CoinDesk, Fairshake has spent approximately $1.4 million to aid Bush and another $1.5 million to support Randall. The results of primary elections and ongoing vote counting reveal that Fairshake's backing has been impactful. Approximately two dozen pro-crypto candidates endorsed by Fairshake have secured primary election victories. This strategic spending by Fairshake underscores the growing influence of the cryptocurrency industry in US politics. It also suggests that pro-crypto candidates are gaining traction among voters, further highlighting the increasing mainstream acceptance of digital assets.
