Cryptocurrency Ownership Plummets in Latest Survey

Cointelegraph reports that according to a recent report from the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia's Consumer Finance Institute (CFI), the proportion of investors holding cryptocurrency has shown a downward trend. The Cryptocurrency Ownership Survey, conducted in October 2023, revealed that 17.1% of respondents owned cryptocurrency. However, this number fell to 15.4% in January 2024. The proportion rose slightly to 16.1% in April 2024, but fell once more to 14.7% in July 2024. The report was based on a survey of 5,000 investors in the United States. The findings suggest that despite the recent surge in interest in cryptocurrency, the proportion of investors actually holding it has been declining. This could be due to a number of factors, such as the volatility of the cryptocurrency market and the lack of regulation.
