DMM Crypto Partners with Hivemapper to Bring Decentralized Mapping to Japan

DMM Crypto, a Web3 subsidiary of the DMM Group, has announced a partnership with Hivemapper, a decentralized physical infrastructure (DePIN) project. Through this partnership, DMM Crypto aims to provide a blockchain-based decentralized mapping service to users in Japan. Hivemapper's crowdsourced project involves drivers installing dashcams in their vehicles to source road mapping data. This data is then integrated into real-time street maps using artificial intelligence (AI). Drivers who contribute data to the project are rewarded with HONEY tokens. "Through this partnership, we aim to promote Hivemapper and support regulatory compliance, ultimately driving mass adoption of Web3 in Japan," said Kasaki Nagato, CEO of DMM Crypto. In the future, DMM Crypto plans to conduct large-scale demonstration projects utilizing Hivemapper's services with the support of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO).
