Bitcoin Dust: Top 100 Addresses Accumulate Millions in Unusable Funds

## Bitcoin Dust Accumulation According to recent data from BitInfoCharts, the top 100 addresses with the highest concentration of Bitcoin dust collectively hold approximately $88 million worth of BTC. Bitcoin dust refers to small amounts of cryptocurrency that are either stuck in transactions below the minimum threshold for a valid transaction or are otherwise unspendable. Due to the nature of the Unspent Transaction Output (UTXO) model on the Bitcoin blockchain, these funds remain locked in their respective wallets. Cointelegraph reports that these top 100 addresses have witnessed approximately $139 million worth of transactions since January 2010. Notably, the exchange-linked address holding the most substantial amount of this dust belongs to HTX (formerly Huobi), currently accumulating around 12.46 BTC, valued at approximately $792,000. It's important to note that 82 of these top 100 addresses have not recorded any incoming or outgoing transactions in 2023. This indicates that a significant portion of this Bitcoin dust may remain unclaimed and inaccessible for the foreseeable future.
