ETH Spot ETF Approval May Still Take a Year, Analyst Says

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) may approve a spot Ether (ETH) exchange-traded fund (ETF) this week, but final approval and trading is still likely more than a year away, according to one analysis. "We expect the SEC to approve the 19b-4 filings from VanEck and others this Wednesday, but we do not believe we will see trading and an S-1 effective within the next year. However, this could still be very bullish for crypto," said FRBK founder and CEO Yunus Ozkaya in an interview with Cointelegraph. The SEC must approve both a 19b-4 and an S-1 in order for a new ETF to start trading.
