Matt Hougan, chief investment officer (CIO) of crypto asset manager and bitcoin spot ETF issuer Bitwise, recently stated in an interview that "Ethereum’s issuance is net $10 million a day. Keep in mind that’s before any burn.” This statement highlights the current rate at which new Ethereum (ETH) coins are being created and entering circulation. It is important to note that this issuance rate does not take into account the potential impact of the upcoming Ethereum Improvement Proposal (EIP) 1559, which is expected to introduce a burning mechanism for ETH. Once implemented, EIP 1559 could potentially reduce the issuance rate of ETH, making it a more deflationary asset.
