JP Morgan Predicts Fed Rate Cuts to Start in September
JP Morgan has released a report predicting that the US Federal Reserve is likely to start cutting interest rates in September, not November as previously expected. "The June inflation data showed a good picture," said Michael Feroli, chief economist at JP Morgan. "Fed Chairman Jerome Powell has called for more positive data on inflation, and the recently released CPI data has provided policymakers with the information they need." Feroli expects the inflation report to pave the way for the first rate cut in September, followed by cuts in each subsequent quarter.
