GOP Senate Candidate Blasts Sen. Warren for Pushing Crypto Crackdown

John E Deaton, a crypto attorney and recent GOP congressional candidate, has slammed anti-crypto Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) for “inciting the SEC to act outside of its jurisdiction and without regard for rule of law,” via Twitter. “The D.C. Circuit Court just ruled against the SEC for acting arbitrarily and capriciously in denying a spot Bitcoin ETF,” he wrote. “Yet Warren is now pushing for the SEC to act outside its jurisdiction, without any authorization from Congress, by asking the EPA to crack down on crypto mining.” Warren sent a letter to the EPA in July 2022 urging it to crack down on crypto mining, and reiterated those comments via Twitter on Sept. 9, saying, “the SEC should protect investors & enforce existing climate risk guidelines.
