Hana Financial Group and SK Telecom have acquired major stakes in BitGo Korea, the Korean subsidiary of global digital asset financial institution BitGo, according to IT Chosun. Hana Financial Group now holds a 25% stake, while SK Telecom holds a 10% stake in BitGo Korea, making them major shareholders in the company. BitGo Korea is currently preparing for the Information Security Management System (ISMS) certification and applying for a virtual asset service provider (VASP) license. This move by Hana Financial Group and SK Telecom demonstrates the increasing interest in the virtual asset market and the need for secure and reliable custody solutions.
