Kendrick Meek was a U.S. Representative from 2003 to 2011. He was a member of the tax-writing House Ways and Means Committee. He was also a member of the House Judiciary Committee. Meek left Congress in 2011 to run for the U.S. Senate. He lost the Democratic primary to Charlie Crist.
