Investigation of 4 Trillion Won Virtual Asset Fraud Underway, Key KOK Figure Repatriated to Korea

- According to Sisa Journal, the government is reportedly proceeding with repatriation procedures for Mr. Han, a key figure in the alleged fraud case involving virtual asset KOK (Cock) tokens, which caused damages in the trillion-won range. Mr. Han was recently arrested in the United States and is currently on trial in immigration court. It is understood that the two countries discussed Mr. Han's repatriation in this context. In response, the Ministry of Justice declined to comment specifically, saying, "This is information related to diplomatic relations in connection with an ongoing investigation." KOK is a virtual asset issued in September 2019 that raised investment funds using a multi-level marketing approach. It is estimated in the industry that 900,000 people worldwide suffered damages close to 4 trillion won. ---
