Lykke Confirms Cryptocurrency Theft, Isolates Affected Systems

Lykke, a cryptocurrency exchange, has verified that it was the target of a theft attack. The company stated in a statement that withdrawals had been temporarily suspended "as a precautionary measure." Following the incident, the compromised systems were promptly quarantined to reduce the impact. Lykke added, "We regret any inconvenience this may have caused our clients and partners and want to assure you that we have robust reserves and a varied portfolio. Our stability is ensured by our solid financial position, which enables us to cover prospective losses. We've discovered the attacker's IP address and engaged an outside cybersecurity firm to help us recover and halt the stolen cash. Security specialist SomaXBT had previously claimed that Lykke had lost $19.5 million in cryptocurrency on June 4 and was attempting to hide the occurrence.
