Nomad Hacker Launders $41 Million in ETH via Tornado Cash

Nomad Hacker Transfers $41M in ETH to Tornado Cash Blockchain security firm SlowMist's MistTrack platform reported via Twitter that "the Nomad attacker address just transferred another 17,000 ETH (~$41 million) to the crypto mixing protocol Tornado Cash (TORN)." Earlier, the same address transferred 14,500 ETH ($35.2 million) to Tornado Cash. In August 2022, Nomad suffered an exploit that resulted in the theft of $186 million worth of cryptocurrency. Tornado Cash is a crypto mixing protocol that allows users to anonymize their transactions, making it more difficult to trace the source of funds. The US Treasury Department sanctioned Tornado Cash in August 2022, alleging that it was being used to launder money for North Korea. It’s important to stay updated on the latest developments in the crypto industry, especially as it relates to security and regulation.
