Polymarket Users Predict Low Odds of Trump, Harris Discussing Cryptocurrency in Debate
Ahead of the televised presidential debate between former president Donald Trump and vice president Kamala Harris, users on the decentralized prediction market platform Polymarket are giving Donald Trump a 17% chance of uttering the words “cryptocurrency” or “bitcoin” during the debate, CoinDesk reported. Kamala Harris was given a 13% chance. The debate is scheduled to take place on Oct. 9. Some analysts believe that the low odds reflect a lack of understanding of cryptocurrency among the general public. Others believe that the candidates may be hesitant to discuss the topic for fear of alienating voters. Whatever the reason, the Polymarket odds suggest that cryptocurrency is unlikely to be a major topic of discussion in the upcoming presidential debate.
