Ren Protocol's X Account Compromised; Posting Phishing Links: Be Aware

Blockchain security expert ZachXBT alerted through his official Telegram channel that "the official X (formerly Twitter) account of Ethereum (ETH) liquid staking protocol Ren (REZ) has apparently been compromised." In this regard, he added that "the compromised X account of Ren is currently posting with phishing links. Two suspected hacker wallets have reportedly drained nearly $2.1 million worth of cryptocurrency assets from victims so far." ZachXBT urged users to remain vigilant and avoid clicking on any suspicious links that may be shared via the compromised account. It is worth noting that this is not the first instance of a verified Twitter account being compromised to promote phishing scams. In 2022, several high-profile accounts were hacked and used to spread malicious links. These incidents highlight the importance of exercising caution when interacting with social media platforms and being wary of any unsolicited messages or links. To protect yourself from phishing attacks, it is recommended to always verify the authenticity of a message before clicking on any links. If you are unsure about the legitimacy of a message, do not hesitate to reach out to the official sources directly.
