Hacker Restores $7.4 Million of Rho Markets Stolen Funds

Blockchain security firm SlowMist has reported that the individual responsible for the exploitation of Rho Markets, a lending protocol operating on the Ethereum layer-2 network, Scroll, has returned 2203 ETH. This constitutes the bulk of the stolen funds, which were initially valued at $7.6 million. Previously, the hacker had indicated a willingness to return the funds on the condition that Rho Markets acknowledge the theft as a result of a vulnerability rather than an attack or hack. Rho Markets has not yet publicly commented on this matter.
