Heather Slavkin Corzo, a well-known crypto skeptic and policy chief at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), has resigned from her position. Corzo's departure comes as the SEC continues to grapple with how to regulate the rapidly evolving cryptocurrency industry. Corey Klemmer, who joined the SEC in July 2021 as an adviser for capital markets policy, will take over Corzo's role.
