Solana Project Andrena Secures $18 Million to Develop Decentralized Wireless Network

Andrena, a data and decentralized physical infrastructure (DePIN) project built on the Solana blockchain, has raised $18 million in a funding round led by Dragonfly. Wintermute Ventures, Castle Island Ventures, CMT Digital, and ParaFi also participated in the round. The funds will be used to develop a decentralized autonomous wireless network (DAWN). DAWN will allow users to access the internet without relying on traditional cellular networks. Instead, it will use a mesh network of nodes that are owned and operated by the users themselves. Andrena is one of several projects that are working to develop decentralized wireless networks. The goal of these projects is to create a more open and equitable internet that is not controlled by a few large companies. If successful, DAWN could have a major impact on the way that we access the internet. It could make it more affordable, more accessible, and more secure.
