Sony Group is poised to unveil its Layer-2 blockchain, Soneium, in the coming weeks, according to information shared by Decrypt. Developed through a joint venture between Sony and Startale Labs known as Sony Blockchain Solutions Labs, Soneium will employ Optimistic Rollup technology. Initially, Soneium will operate a testnet alongside Astar (ASTR), a well-known Japanese public chain project. The launch of Soneium marks a significant step for Sony in the realm of Web3 and blockchain technology.
