Telegram CEO, Pavel Durov, has disputed claims that his platform, Telegram, is a lawless arena, where criminals run rampant. "The notion that Telegram is a haven for anarchy is a far cry from reality," Durov stated. "We eradicate millions of harmful posts and channels on a daily basis." He went on to say that "Telegram's user base has swiftly expanded to 950 million users, which has created opportunities that nefarious actors have attempted to exploit. I have taken up the personal crusade to combat this challenge." Durov's comments come in the wake of scrutiny from French authorities, who prosecuted and placed him under judicial supervision.
