The Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) of Bitwise, Katherine Dowling, hinted that former US President Donald Trump may have had prior knowledge of the Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) approval of a spot Ethereum ETF. Dowling made this remark during a speech at the Consensus 2023 conference: "It's possible that Donald Trump, former president of the United States, knew in advance that a spot Ethereum ETF was going to be approved. He would have been the only one. We did not know." The SEC's unexpected approval of the spot ether ETF caught the industry by surprise, according to The Block, which reported on Dowling's comments.
