US BTC Spot ETF Surpasses 887,000 BTC in Holdings
The US Bitcoin (BTC) spot exchange-traded fund (ETF) has accrued a significant amount of BTC, with holdings reaching a notable 887,000 BTC. This data was revealed by on-chain analytics firm Glassnode. While the US BTC spot ETF has garnered attention for its substantial holdings, other entities within the cryptocurrency ecosystem also possess considerable amounts of BTC. Centralized exchanges collectively hold approximately 3 million BTC, while miners hold 705,000 BTC. Additionally, governments worldwide hold 207,000 BTC, and the Mt. Gox trustee manages 139,000 BTC. The growing adoption of BTC spot ETFs and the accumulation of BTC by various entities underscore the increasing mainstream acceptance and institutional interest in the cryptocurrency.
