Senator Warren Accuses Gemini Founders of Election Interference

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) has alleged that Gemini cryptocurrency exchange founders Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss are attempting to influence the outcome of the upcoming Massachusetts Republican primary by providing financial support to candidate John E Deaton. In a letter to donors, the Warren campaign claimed that the Winklevoss twins are "trying to influence the outcome of our elections" and that their support for Deaton is part of a broader effort to "hold the entire industry accountable to basic rules of the road." The allegations follow Warren's previous criticism of the cryptocurrency industry, which she has characterized as a "Wild West" in need of regulation. She has also introduced legislation that would subject cryptocurrency exchanges to stricter oversight. The Winklevoss twins have not publicly responded to Warren's allegations. However, they have previously expressed support for Deaton, who has pledged to fight against Warren's efforts to regulate the cryptocurrency industry.
