WazirX Hacker Transfers $6.5M in ETH to Tornado Cash
WazirX, an Indian cryptocurrency exchange, was hacked earlier this year, resulting in the theft of $230 million. Now, an address that security firm PeckShield has linked to the hack has moved 2,600 ETH (or $6.5 million) to Tornado Cash. This transfer to Tornado Cash, a cryptocurrency mixing service designed to hide the origins of funds, took place over the last 9 hours. It is a concerning development that suggests the hackers behind the WazirX breach are attempting to launder their stolen funds. Exchanges are taking all the right steps to enhance their security but it is still not enough. We are likely to see more such hacks in the future.
