ZkSync Token Issuance and Airdrop Expected This Week

ZkSync, an Ethereum Layer 2 network, is expected to conduct a token issuance (TGE) this week and an airdrop on June 13, according to cryptocurrency news outlet The Block. The sources stated that "the token launch, including the airdrop, will occur within 30 days of the TGE and the total token supply will be 21 billion." Another source explained that "ZkSync wanted to set the ticker of its native token as 'ZK', but Polyhedra (ZK) has already secured the ticker. There is a possibility that they may stick with the ticker ZK considering that Binance has not yet listed Polyhedra's ZK." Meanwhile, Matter Labs, the development company behind ZkSync, emphasized that "the ZkSync network is undergoing decentralization. There are no concrete plans at this point." Last weekend, Cointelegraph reported, citing Coindesk, that ZkSync's governance token airdrop could take place in late June.
