'LayerZero Co-Founder Offers Bounty to Find "Sybil" Accounts Holding Tokens'

LayerZero co-founder Bryan Pellegrino has offered a bounty to those who can find "Sybil" accounts that have received tokens. Sybil accounts are those that are used to create multiple identities on a network, which can be used to manipulate the system. Pellegrino says he will give "10% of the tokens that the sybil account received back to the sybil hunter that finds them, however, if the sybil address received 0 tokens, then the sybil hunter will also receive 0 tokens." The announcement comes after LayerZero previously warned that "Addresses flagged as "Sybil" by either internal team review or bounty hunters will not be eligible to claim tokens." As such, multi-account actors were advised to self-report by May 17 in advance of the token distribution. This is not the first time that a LayerZero co-founder has offered a bounty for finding Sybil accounts. In January, co-founder Ryan Zarick offered a bounty of $10,000 for finding Sybil accounts that had received tokens from the LayerZero airdrop. The LayerZero team is clearly taking the issue of Sybil accounts seriously. By offering bounties to those who can find these accounts, the team is hoping to deter people from creating Sybil accounts and manipulating the system.
