About 1.5 Million BTC Are Lost Forever, 8.5% of Total Supply

Channelisys' analysis revealed that approximately 1.5 million BTC, comprising 8.5% of the total supply, is dormant and unlikely to be retrieved, excluding Satoshi's holdings. This signifies that roughly $121 billion worth of Bitcoin is considered lost. However, as dormant wallets occasionally reactivate, the actual number of lost Bitcoin may fluctuate over time. Previously on 24/04/2024 - Blockchain analytics firm Channelisys, in a research conducted with the American business magazine Fortune, analyzed that "about 1.5 million Bitcoins are lost forever".
