Arbitrum Community Votes to Deploy Orbit on Non-Ethereum Chain

Arbitrum community has initiated a governance proposal to deploy Arbitrum Orbit on a network other than Ethereum. Arbitrum Orbit is a solution that leverages Arbitrum’s Nitro tech stack to help launch custom dedicated chains. The proposal has received overwhelming support from the community, with 99.89% voting in favor at the time of writing. Voting will conclude on August 1, 5:52 AM (UTC). If the proposal passes, it will allow Arbitrum to expand its reach beyond the Ethereum ecosystem and tap into new markets. It will be particularly beneficial for projects that require highly customized solutions or those that want to avoid the high gas fees associated with the Ethereum network.
