Avalanche, ZKsync Discord Servers Hacked: Scammers Target Crypto Communities

On Friday, July 8th, malicious actors compromised the official Discord servers of Avalanche, a proof-of-stake blockchain platform, and zkSync, a zero-knowledge-based Ethereum layer-2 network. Avalanche confirmed the breach via its Twitter account, stating that its Discord was hacked by nefarious actors posting fake links to an AVAX airdrop from a compromised member's account. They were able to quickly resolve the issue and are working on restoring the server. Shortly after the Avalanche breach, zkSync's Discord server was also targeted, although the specifics of the attack are not yet known. The incidents highlight the ongoing threat of cyberattacks on crypto-related platforms and underscore the importance of cybersecurity for decentralized projects.
