Bitcoin Empty Block Mined

An empty block was mined for bitcoin block height 847904 at 11:12 p.m. today, according to Mempool Space. It was mined 29 seconds after the previous block was mined. An empty block is a block that does not contain any transaction data other than the 'coinbase transaction' that allocates mining compensation to the miner. Empty blocks are not uncommon, but they are interesting because they show that the Bitcoin network is still active and secure, even when there are not many transactions being processed. Empty blocks also help to keep the blockchain size manageable.
