Bitcoin ETF Options Launch by Year-End: 70% Chance, Analysts Say

Bitcoin ETF options have a 70% chance of being launched by the end of this year, according to Bloomberg Intelligence analysts Eric Balchunas and James Seyffart. "We don't think the SEC is going to reject this," they said during an interview. "There's almost no reason for them to reject this. There's so much demand and interest in this product." The analysts noted that the SEC is not the only agency involved in the approval process. The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) also have a say. "It involves multiple agencies," said Balchunas and Seyffart. "We don't think this is just being delayed because of some nefarious reason. It's just the slow-moving bureaucracy of government." The launch of Bitcoin ETF options would be a significant development for the cryptocurrency industry. It would provide investors with a new way to gain exposure to Bitcoin without having to buy the underlying asset.
