Franklin Templeton CEO: "Bitcoin Is Massively Underrated by TradFi"

Franklin Templeton CEO Jenny Johnson has said that traditional financial institutions (TradFi) are massively underrating the scale of Bitcoin (BTC). Speaking at the Wyoming Blockchain Symposium, Johnson said that "30% of the work I do during the day is spent studying disruptive technology. You can’t miss these two things: crypto and AI.” She added, “The thing I find mind-boggling is how little understanding there is in traditional finance about the size and volume of bitcoin.” Johnson pointed out that last year, $36.6 trillion worth of transactions went through the Bitcoin blockchain, while Mastercard and Visa processed only $9 trillion and $14.8 trillion, respectively. "I think we’re going to see more traditional finance come into crypto, but it’s going to take some time for them to get comfortable with it," Johnson said. "But I think it’s inevitable. Crypto is here to stay." ```
