Coinbase CLO Refutes Allegations of Campaign Finance Violations

Coinbase's Chief Legal Officer (CLO), Paul Grewal, has refuted allegations that Coinbase violated campaign finance laws after crypto skeptic Molly White claimed that Coinbase was running a super PAC, Fairshake, while simultaneously lobbying the federal government on business-related matters. Grewal denies these claims, stating that "Coinbase is not a 'federal contractor' and, therefore, did not violate campaign finance law." Coinbase has donated $5 million to Fairshake in November 2023, $15.5 million in December 2023, and $25 million on May 30th, 2024.
