Early Miner Moves 2,000 BTC Mined 14 Years Ago

CryptoQuant lead analyst Julio Moreno recently tweeted that an early Bitcoin miner moved 2,000 BTC. The coins were mined back in 2010, almost 14 years ago. They were moved to several addresses almost instantly, so it's likely that they were sent to an OTC desk or a custodian. "Historic miners are a source of liquidity and distribution," Moreno added. This is not the first time that early Bitcoin miners have moved their coins. In 2021, a miner moved 1,000 BTC that had been mined in 2009. And in 2020, a miner moved 500 BTC that had been mined in 2010. As the price of Bitcoin continues to rise, it is likely that we will see more early miners selling their coins. These sales could provide liquidity to the market and help to drive the price of Bitcoin even higher.
