Co-Founder of Crypto Project FutureNet Arrested in Montenegro
Montenegro police detained Roman Ziemian, co-founder of the cryptocurrency project FutureNet, on charges of embezzling $21 million in a crypto scam. Ziemian faces extradition to Korea and Poland, where authorities have charges of fraud and money laundering against him. The Korean police launched the investigation mid-2020 after 950 people reported losing invested funds in FutureNet. If extradited to Korea, Ziemian faces life imprisonment. Montenegrin authorities have scheduled a hearing to determine extradition.
