Humanity Protocol, a Worldcoin Rival, Secures $30 Million in Seed Funding

Humanity Protocol, a blockchain project that aims to provide online identity verification to combat AI-based deepfakes, has reportedly raised $30 million in a seed round led by Kingsway Capital. The seed round also saw participation from notable investors such as Animoca Brands, Blockchain.com, and Shima Capital, among others. This funding round comes as Humanity Protocol positions itself as a rival to Worldcoin (WLD), another blockchain project with similar goals. Humanity Protocol's seed round also included a $1.5 million contribution from crypto influencers through a KOL round, a practice that has been gaining traction in the crypto industry. Notably, Humanity Protocol required participating influencers to complete specific "homework" assignments as part of the KOL round, according to previous reporting by CoinDesk. This funding injection will likely fuel Humanity Protocol's efforts to develop and implement its identity verification solutions, potentially positioning it as a strong competitor in the market for AI-based deepfake prevention.
