Iran President Threatens Retaliation after Hamas Leader Assassination

President Masoud Pezeshkian of Iran hinted that they will retaliate after the assassination of Hamas' top political leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran on Sunday. Pezeshkian blamed Israel for the assassination and offered condolences to Haniyeh, calling him a "brave leader of the resistance in Palestine" in a statement carried by Tasnim. Pezeshkian warned that they will make "the terrorist occupiers feel regretful over their heinous behavior," adding that "the Islamic Republic of Iran will safeguard the territorial integrity, dignity, honor, and pride of our nation." He emphasized that the solidarity between Iran and Palestine will become stronger than before, and they will continue to support the oppressed and follow the path of resistance and defense.
