MakerDAO Co-Founder Proposes 'PureDAI' Stablecoin

MakerDAO co-founder Rune Christensen has proposed the launch of a new decentralized stablecoin called "PureDAI." PureDAI is envisioned to be a non-pegged stablecoin that maintains stability through a decentralized oracle system. Unlike MakerDAO's existing stablecoin, DAI, PureDAI is proposed to be independent of MakerDAO and would operate solely on the Ethereum mainnet. The launch of PureDAI is anticipated to take several years, and current DAI holders would have the option to swap their tokens for either NewStable or PureDAI when they are released. Previously on May 10, 2023, MakerDAO co-founder Rune Christensen proposed the launch of a new decentralized stablecoin called "PureDAI," through a blog post on the MakerDAO forum. According to Christensen, PureDAI is envisioned to be a non-pegged stablecoin that maintains stability through a decentralized oracle system.
