Mixed Closing for Major US Stock Indices

The closing of the three major indices of the US stock market was mixed. S&P 500: +0.23% NASDAQ: +0.34% * DOW: -0.17% The S&P 500 index closed at 3,969.06, up 9.17 points or 0.23%. The NASDAQ Composite index closed at 11,466.98, up 38.97 points or 0.34%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 33,128.79, down 57.61 points or 0.17%. Although the overall closing was mixed, all three indices saw gains during the trading day. The S&P 500 reached an intraday high of 3,981.40, the NASDAQ reached an intraday high of 11,507.90, and the DOW reached an intraday high of 33,250.23.
