Nigerian Court Freezes Crypto Addresses Holding $37 Million

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Nigeria has successfully obtained a court order to freeze four cryptocurrency addresses allegedly holding about $37 million worth of Tether (USDT). The addresses were reportedly linked to money laundering and terrorist financing. The Nigerian Federal High Court in Abuja granted the request on the 9th of September 2023, which will allow the EFCC to investigate the matter further. This move is part of the government's ongoing efforts to combat illicit financial activities involving cryptocurrency.
