SatoshiVM Announces Runes Bridge Launch on Testnet: Rewards for Early Liquidity Providers

SatoshiVM (SAVM), a zk-rollup-based Bitcoin layer-two project, announced via [X](https://twitter.com/satoshi_vm/status/1637615537893270528) that it “will launch its Runes bridge functionality on testnet next week. Early liquidity providers will be rewarded with SAVM.” Runes is a protocol designed for the creation of fungible tokens on the Bitcoin blockchain, developed by Ordinals protocol creator Casey Rodarmor as an alternative to the BRC-20 token standard. By bridging Runes to Bitcoin layer two, SatoshiVM aims to enable faster and more cost-effective transactions for Bitcoin-based assets. This integration will allow users to transfer Runes tokens between the Bitcoin main chain and the SatoshiVM layer-two network seamlessly. The launch of the Runes bridge on testnet is a significant milestone for SatoshiVM as it expands the interoperability of its ecosystem and provides developers with a wider range of tools for building on the Bitcoin blockchain. Previously on April 21, 2024, SatoshiVM announced the upcoming launch of its Runes bridge functionality on testnet.
