US Government's Silk Road Wallet Makes Second 10k BTC Transfer
Over the last couple of weeks, 20,000 BTC from the US government's Silk Road wallet has been moved to Coinbase Prime. The first transfer was made from a different US government wallet to the Silk Road wallet, and the second from the Silk Road wallet to Coinbase Prime. The value of the transferred Bitcoin totals $1.186 billion. Blockchain analytics firm Arkham Intelligence (ARKM) tracked both transactions. The Silk Road online marketplace was shut down by the US government in 2013, and Bitcoin worth roughly $1 billion was seized. The government has been moving these funds in recent months, sparking speculation about what it might do with it.
