Krugman: Cryptocurrency Possibly Links Trump and Vance

Nobel laureate economist Paul Krugman argued in a New York Times op-ed that “cryptocurrency seems to be one of the links” between former US President Donald Trump and his running mate JD Vance. “Trump used to bash Bitcoin, but now he has done a 180,” Krugman wrote. “And Vance told Politico that he would back legislation ‘to ensure that banks are not prohibited, at the behest of regulators, from meeting the demands of their customers for cryptocurrency.’ In return, the crypto bros now seem to believe that they will get political favors from Trump. Yet Bitcoin, after more than 15 years, still has no economic use.”
