UWU Lend Hacker Transfers $3.66M in ETH to Tornado Cash

Blockchain security firm PeckShield alerted via its official Twitter that an address "labeled as the hacker behind the DeFi protocol UWU Lend" transferred 1,000 ETH (worth $3.66 million) to Tornado Cash. Tornado Cash is a privacy mixer that allows users to obscure the origin of their cryptocurrency transactions. This makes it a popular tool for criminals and hackers to launder stolen funds. The UWU Lend hack was one of the largest DeFi hacks in history. In October 2021, the hacker exploited a vulnerability in the protocol to steal $8.5 million worth of cryptocurrency. The transfer of funds to Tornado Cash suggests that the hacker is attempting to launder the stolen funds. This could make it more difficult for law enforcement to track down and recover the stolen cryptocurrency. This is a developing story. We will provide more updates as they become available.
