Vanguard's New CEO Says 'No Plans' for Spot Bitcoin ETF
Vanguard's incoming CEO, Salim Ramji, has ruled out the possibility of his company introducing a spot Bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF) in the near future. In an interview with CoinDesk, he stated that Vanguard plans to maintain the "disciplined" approach established by his predecessor, Tim Buckley, who previously expressed doubts about the long-term viability of Bitcoin as an investment. Previously on May 16, 2024, Vanguard's CEO-designate Salim Ramji stated that his company has "no plans" to offer a spot Bitcoin ETF, echoing earlier remarks by Tim Buckley in March.
