Worldcoin Token Unlock: $554M of Early Investors and Team Tokens to Be Released

Worldcoin, a blockchain-based project aiming to create a global digital identity system, is set to unlock a significant number of its tokens on July 24, 2023. According to on-chain crypto analyst EmberCN, approximately 2.38 billion WLD tokens, worth around $554.5 million, will be unlocked for investors and the team. The unlocking of these tokens is part of Worldcoin's previously announced plan to extend the unlock period for about 80% of its token allocation for investors and team members from 3 years to 5 years. The tokens will now be unlocked linearly over 4 years. The Worldcoin Foundation has been preparing for the token unlock, including transferring 990 million WLD tokens to an anonymous address recently.
